ERTMS EQUIPMENT ENCLOSURE

One of ProRail's core tasks is to maintain the railway network reliably, safely, and efficiently, which is easier said than done. Fortunately, there are many technical possibilities nowadays, making management, monitoring, and maintenance much simpler. In this context, Tizzin, together with several partners, has designed a new enclosure for the ERTMS train safety technology. This involved a focus on sustainability, modular design, climate control, and energy consumption. To ensure that the performance of the electronics is not compromised by weather conditions, several measures have been taken, such as separating the airflows inside and outside. |
To maintain a consistent climate within certain tolerances, we are also researching and developing various aspects, commissioned by Tizzin. We handle the measurements (such as humidity, air pressure, temperature, and airflow through the PCM cross-flow heat exchanger), determine which sensors best fit these requirements and conditions, and develop the control system for climate control. In this assignment, we can leverage not only our knowledge and experience with industrial controls but also our extensive expertise in using sensors for various purposes and applications. |
